This is a new blog for Old Oak Family Farm. It is intended to keep you updated on current events and share some of our favorite recipes
We are so excited to have received our first 2011 CSA box! I made the recipe in the Newsletter: Slow Cooker Chicken Adobo. In an effort to use more of the box contents we subbed out the onions for leeks. When I made our wild and brown rice blend I first sauteed some of the green garlic and green onions in the pan to give the rice some added flavor (which was delcious). We actually didn’t have any chicken so we made ours with Tilapia which was also very delicious. 3 out of 4 of the family members LOVED it (which was my prediction when setting out to make it). Thanks for the inspiration.
